On January 12, Feng Jing, Party Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Tonglu County Committee, and his delegation paid a visit to GNMI in Shanghai and met with Su Ertian, Board Chairman of Global New Material International, and had an in-depth exchange on Global New Material International’s industrial layout in Tonglu, the advancement of key projects and the work arrangements for the next stage.
The two sides exchanged views on the development strategy of Global New Material International and the overall progress of the Tonglu project. Su Ertian introduced GNMI’s strategic direction aiming at becoming a leading enterprise in the field of surface performance materials globally, with a focus on high-quality synthetic mica materials and related extended products, and the continuous advancement of technology research and development, capacity building and global market layout.
As an important strategic project of Global New Material International, the 100,000-ton-per-year synthetic mica production project in Tonglu has now entered a critical stage. All construction tasks of the project are advancing steadily, core production facilities and supporting projects are being built and installed in an orderly manner, equipment installation and commissioning are being carried out simultaneously, and systematic communication and coordination have been conducted with a focus on the ignition and commissioning of the first phase of the project and market connection arrangements.
Su Ertian said that the Tonglu project is an important fulcrum to complete our industrial layout and strengthen our core material capabilities. Once it is put into production, it will further enhance the company’s scale advantages and technological barriers in synthetic mica, providing more stable and high-quality material guarantees for downstream applications such as new energy, electronics and coatings.
Feng Jing said that the CPC Tonglu County Committee and the Tonglu County People’s government will continue to support Global New Material International’s development in Tonglu, provide better service and guarantee centering on project construction, commissioning and operation, and industrial chain synergy, promote the aggregation of upstream and downstream resources, accelerate the formation of the new materials industrial system, and assist in the optimization and upgrading of the regional industrial structure.
The Tonglu project’s advancement and collaborative direction have been further clarified through the exchange, laying a solid foundation for the continuous cooperation between the government and the enterprise in the field of new materials.
