On October 23, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Luzhai County Employee Vocational Skills Competition—along with Pearlescent New Materials Industry Skills Competition—was successfully held, organized by Guangxi Chesir Pearl Materials Co., Ltd. The competition focused on practical skills for frontline positions in the pearlescent new materials industry, providing industrial workers with a platform to exchange techniques and compete on equal footing. It aimed to steadily advance reforms in the development of the industrial workforce and support the cultivation of skilled talent in the new materials sector.
Xiao Weiyang, Vice Chairperson and CPC Party Leadership Group Member of the Liuzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions; Rao Dongsheng, Level-2 Researcher of Luzhai County and Chairperson of the County Federation of Trade Unions; Guo Qichang, CPC Party Leadership Group Secretary and Level-4 Researcher of the County Federation of Trade Unions; and Liu Yi, CPC Party Leadership Group Member and Vice Chairperson of the County Federation of Trade Unions, attended the opening ceremony. Zhou Dan, Chairperson of Chesir Pearl Trade Union and Deputy General Manager, and Wang Lintan, Deputy General Manager, also participated in the event.

Closely aligned with the practical needs of frontline positions in the pearlescent new materials industry, the competition featured three hands-on events: sensory identification of mica substrate particle size, identification of product models by pearlescent color card, and pearlescent powder color matching. These events comprehensively assessed the contestants’ practical skills throughout the entire process—including substrate identification, color chart recognition, raw material selection, proportioning and weighing, mixing, and sample preparation—to holistically evaluate frontline employees’ technical proficiency and overall professional competence.

At the competition venue, participants remained focused and composed as they competed, fully demonstrating the practical experience they had accumulated through long-term dedication to their roles. They competed at the workstations to showcase their true abilities and hone their technical skills. Through visual inspection and tactile assessment, they accurately determined the particle size and moisture content of the mica substrate; they quickly identified color charts and matched corresponding product models against standard light sources; strictly followed specifications to complete color-matching processes—including ingredient measurement, mixing, and sample preparation—repeatedly fine-tuning the ratios to ensure the test samples matched the standard samples as closely as possible.

After an intense and competitive contest, the final rankings for each event were determined, with several employees achieving outstanding results. Zhou Dan, Chair of Chesir’s Trade Union and Deputy General Manager, presented certificates of honor to the award-winning employees. She noted that the assessment tasks in this competition all represent the most fundamental and core aspects of daily production in the pearlescent new materials industry. Persistently strengthening these foundational skills is key to maintaining product precision and ensuring consistent quality—and it is the very foundation of the company’s core competitiveness. This honor reflects everyone’s accumulated dedication and hard work over time; it is not only a recognition of their achievements but also a responsibility to continue moving forward. She expressed her hope that the award-winning employees would serve as role models in their positions, proactively share their practical experience, and play a mentoring role to transform their individual expertise into the team’s collective capability. At the same time, she encouraged colleagues who did not receive awards to maintain a positive outlook, noting that the competition’s primary purpose is to promote learning, drive improvement, and enhance quality through competition. The shortcomings revealed in this competition represent the very areas for future refinement and advancement. Chesir will also continue to establish platforms for on-the-job training and skills competitions, providing dedicated and hardworking employees with opportunities to showcase their talents, grow professionally, and be rewarded.
High-quality industrial development cannot be achieved without the support of a high-caliber, highly skilled workforce. Moving forward, Chesir will continue to foster a culture of craftsmanship, continuously improve mechanisms for the training, evaluation, and incentives of skilled talent, and fully stimulate the enthusiasm of frontline workers to explore technology and drive innovation and efficiency. We will persist in building a strong, highly skilled workforce, using talent to empower production quality and enhance efficiency through technology, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of the local economy.
